I stood in front of the whitewashed old brick house. I felt nostalgic walking down memory lane and the sights and sounds of the place came flooding in from a long-ago memory. My mind wandered and I saw images of playful kids and their laughter in the sweet-smelling garden filled with daisies and marigolds that were broods of shaggy suns but now they were overgrown, flowerless and shrivelled up. The house was only a shadow of its former self and what I saw was more like the ground of a graveyard.
